Common questions

The keyboard shortcut doesn't work.

Another app probably owns that combination; macOS gives a shortcut to whichever app registered it first. Record a different one in Settings. The field refuses shortcuts without ⌘, ⌥, or ⌃ so plain typing can never trigger a session.

The menu doesn't show my next meeting.

Check Settings: the calendar feature must be on, and macOS must have granted access. If you denied the prompt, Settings shows a button to the right privacy pane. The menu also only offers "Calm Down until it starts" when the meeting is between two and ten minutes away; further out, it just shows what's next.

Why does it ask for Full Access to my calendar?

Because macOS offers no read-only option. Ten Breaths reads the title and time of your next event and never changes anything. See the privacy policy.

I can't click the circle.

Click-through is on. That's the mode for breathing while you keep working; stop the session from the menu bar, or turn click-through off in Settings.

How do I start it from Shortcuts, Raycast, or a script?

Shortcuts and Siri: the app provides "Start Breathing" and "Stop Breathing" actions; say "Breathe with Ten Breaths". Raycast runs those same Shortcuts actions. From a script or the terminal: open tenbreaths://start,open tenbreaths://start/settle,open "tenbreaths://start?breaths=0" (until you stop), andopen tenbreaths://stop.

Can I add my own technique?

Not yet, on purpose. The three techniques are the ones with trial evidence, and a custom editor is the one place where a badly chosen breath hold could make someone dizzy. If enough people ask, I'll revisit it.
